RMR works just like the instructions state. Don’t listen to the negative press. Definitely, don’t listen to Radar Roy, below:
A former sheriff’s lieutenant who lives near Wickenburg has been placed on probation for computer tampering. Roy Richard Reyer (Radar Roy), 47, was indicted April 26 by a state grand jury on charges of defrauding DirecTV, a satellite television company. Reyer, who was accused of selling counterfeit computer cards that allowed programs to be pirated, pleaded Oct. 26 to a charge of solicitation to commit computer tampering

There is one addition to your vehicle that can save you a good deal of money if you fancy yourself a lead foot. This piece of equipment is the radar detector, and it has saved people a lot of money of the years. They are always improving on themselves, by becoming more accurate or broadening the scope of search in terms of threats. A recent advancement in terms of units is the voice alert radar detector. This little gadget will not only warn you of problem areas, but plainly explain what the potential problems are with accuracy.
If you have had your license for a while you may have very well been on the wrong side of this question: Do you know how fast you were going? Of course you do, and that need for speed has landed you on the side of the road with a freshly written ticket.
But how exactly did he know you were speeding at all? Well, there is noticeable excessive speed, like ripping through a school zone at 60 miles per hour. For the most rocky mountain radar detector part, however, you are actually on the wrong end of a radar gun. These are highly accurate depictions of speed at any time their signal meets your moving vehicle. As advanced as these guns have become, the other side of the coin has been working hard to keep you from sitting along the side of the road with a new ticket.
Radar detectors have been around since about the time that radar guns were first being used. Their main job is keeping you aware of where radar guns are being used. Since radar guns emit waves, in all types of the guns, they are easily able to be determined on the typical police frequencies in a broad are. The radar detector warns the driver of an impending speed trap or radar gun in use by signals of lights and unique noises based on the strength and type of signal.
Radar detectors also work on the premise of scrambling the information that is relayed back to the unit of a radar gun. This makes it so that the officer who gunned your vehicle cannot get an accurate reading and actually determine with any degree of accuracy how fast you were actually going.
Voice alert radar detectors not only notify you of the potential for threats of various kinds, they give you an accurate verbal description of that threat. In some cases this could be a dangerous intersection, a waiting speed trap, or a mounted camera that has been causing a bit of trouble for many drivers. It helps to actually hear a voice telling you what to expect and when you are in the clear. If you are considering the purchase of a voice alert radar detector, you might start by checking out some of these popular brands: Whistler, Rocky Mountain Radar, and Cobra.
If you are looking into getting a detector, you should consider a voice alert radar detector. They are the top of the line and highly informative. A detector is a great investment if you are always trying to skim some time off your projected ETA.

It is possible to jam police laser guns, however it requires sophisticated technology to do so. Laser Interceptor and Blinder jammers are two of the more reliable systems. You can do a web search for selling prices, but I can tell you the various LI & Blinder systems sell for 10 to 20 times the price of this RMR unit. You’re not going to get any laser scrambling/jamming protection for $44, and even the radar detection capability is going to very limited. Save up a little more money and get a low end Whistler unit, which will at least give you a decent chance of detecting radar.
RMR (Rocky Mountain Radar)’s detectors aren’t good at anything other then annoying you and getting you a ticket fast. If you depend on this company’s detectors to save you from police radar/laser be prepared to get a ticket if your a speeder (8 MPH + over).
I am a big hobbyist with police countermeasures and speed measuring devices. I have owned/operated many detectors out there from very affordable to the most expensive. I own police issue Ka band radar (Stalker ATR) and Laser guns (Kustom Pro Laser 2) that I test detectors/jammers with.
Out of all the detectors on the market, this company is hands down the bare bottom of the pack with little to no acceptable performance.
They do not jam laser at all, they barely can detect radar all the time or far enough away to be useful.
RMR’s detectors claim abilities that even the most expensive detectors on the market $400-$1,000.00 + have a hard time doing.
The summary:
1. Any kind of early detection range is non existent – range sucks.
2. Cant even detect Ka instant on.
3. Cant detect POP
4. Cant detect laser let alone jam it in time
5. Doesn’t even detect full blast radar all the time.
Save your money, buy something that is worth a crap by Bel/Escort or most preferably Valentine One.
Be aware that the manufacturer is known for false claims on their products. Do not expect this product to have any effect on police laser. DO NOT RISK YOUR LICENSE BY USING THIS PRODUCT. Research the company, products, the claims and the investigations against them. If you want a radar detector, look at Valentine 1, Escort/Bel or Whistler.
very nice unit. be sure to turn on scrambler. nice product and piece of mind. well worth the money
There are reviews of this piece of crap all over the Internet. One of the big car magazines cracked open a Rocky Mountain Radar unit a few years back and found only lights and wires inside. Nothing that could scramble ANYTHING. This is a fake product and this company has been selling them for years. They can get away with it because the attitude of the police regarding this fraud is that if you are going to try to buy a scrambler, it serves you right if you buy a fake one. There ARE NO WORKING Radar Jammers currently available for sale. There ARE working LASER Jammers available from other companies, but the cheapest working ones will cost you nearly $500.
By all means, if you think this works, buy it. Because Radar Roy (a retired cop) will pay you $50,000 once you have it tested and prove that you have a working passive radar jammer. Just Google “Radar Roy’s Challenge”
although the rmr phazer 3 is actually a joke. I doesn’t really protect you from anything. its been proven over and over again all over the net to do nothing…but its kinda of nice to have on your dash and gives you a sense of false security. LOL I have to say the price is the best feature. I got this at a amazing below 5o dollars..so you can’t beat that deal. If you really want laser jamming get a active one not a passive one. its really not worth the money to get one knowing if you get caught with it you’ll probably serve some jail time…lol so all in all I can only say great price..great conversation piece.
